Illustrator Project. Assigned 12/2, due 12/9 - MAJOR

CANVA

Because you don't have access to Adobe products at this time, we are going to use Canva to create your illustrations. You will be making three creations for this project.

1. Create an infographic with data and art. THIS PIECE MUST ALIGN WITH YOUR OPINION STORY #2 SUBJECT!!!

2. Create a political cartoon with a clear opinion/message, that includes symbols & labels, one of the persuasive techniques you learned about last class, and that is factual based. Consider exaggerations that you might utilize with this piece. THIS PIECE MUST ALIGN WITH YOUR OPINION STORY #2 SUBJECT!!!

3. A art piece that could be used with a review of some sort (this could be a review of a movie, book, music, restaurant, etc). OR you can create another Infographic or Political Cartoon

First, click the link below:

https://www.canva.com

You can log into Canva using your AISD credentials.

Once you get there, click the PLUS button. It is purple and in the top left corner.

Once the pop-up opens to set the type of design, go to CUSTOM SIZE and make the document 8.5 inches wide, and 11 inches tall. BE CAREFUL - it will default to PX for the size and you have to change that to INCHES. You will need to create THREE different "Designs" for this project. You CANNOT do them all on one blank document!!

Click the PURPLE create new design button.

From here, the entire creation is up to you. BUT you must create everything - you cannot use the native Canva options like Elements, Brand, Uploads, or their Templates. You can only use the Text tool and the Tools to access drawing, shapes, lines.

You have to make these without anything that has been created by someone else.

Here are some examples of things other students have created using drawing-only programs like Canva or Illustrator:

Examples:

I am open to other drawing programs, so if you have one you have used in the past and want to use it here, remember it has to be browser-based and not a program we have to download. The same rules apply; you have to create everything for the design and you cannot bring in elements from the program or something made by someone else. Please check with me and show me what you want to use, and let's talk about it. Some options include Sketchpad, Google Draw, SmartDraw, etc.
